Turbulent times – but a window of opportunity
Economically, geopolitically and politically, these are turbulent times. Germany’s economy is undergoing profound transformation, uncertainty remains high, and the labour market has become more challenging. For international professionals in Berlin, finding the right opportunity has certainly not become easier. Yet one thing remains remarkably consistent: from September until around mid-November, an important window opens in the annual recruitment cycle. After the summer break, companies return to hiring, projects move forward and positions need to be filled before the year draws to a close. The question, therefore, is not only how difficult the market is – but how well prepared you are to seize the opportunities that emerge. Today, being well prepared means more than having a polished CV and knowing the right job portals. It means understanding your professional positioning, researching strategically, recognising your genuine fit – and using AI as a professional tool rather than merely as a text generator. At the same time, AI is changing what employers value. As information, routine tasks and standard content become easier to generate, distinctly human capabilities gain importance: judgment, accountability, adaptability and execution – combined with the AI literacy to use new technologies effectively. So perhaps this autumn is a good moment to ask:

He brings practical insights from thousands of consultations at Berlin’s Welcome Centre and JOB POINT Berlin.
